    Job Description

    The Staff Electrical Engineer performs broad based electrical design and development including components selection and board level detail design through system integration and test. Success in this role is predicated on an individual’s ability to contribute as a Staff level individual contributor under regulated product design processes while supporting work efforts and reporting project status.

     

    These are some desired primary skills you bring to the job:

    Mixed Signal Circuit Design

    Electromechanical Design

    Detailed design with schematic capture tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor)

    Effective use of PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor)

    Expertise with analog and digital circuit simulation tools (e.g. Spice, Modelsim)

    Working knowledge of industry standards for safety and EMI/EMC

    Originate Design documentation

    Key components selection

    Participate in design reviews

    Supporting design transfer to manufacturing (DFM, DFT)

    Soft skills:

    • Robust attention to detail
    • Highly motivated, action oriented, persistent achiever.
    • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present quality presentations

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop with schematic capture tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor)
    • Effective use of PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor)
    • Perform simulation of analog and/or digital circuits using industry tools (e.g. Spice, Modelsim)
    • Component selection and Bill of Materials management
    • Provide technical support in customer meetings as a subject matter expert in electrical design

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering role that included support for multi-disciplinary design, development, and delivery of products

    • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites with the possibility of extended stays
    • Experience with medical systems preferred

     

    Expertise in two or more of the following technical specialties is required:

    • Analog design (Small signal, Mixed signal, High voltage, and/or Power)
    • Complex digital hardware
    • Electrical Control Systems Modeling, Feedback (SISO)
    • Robotics
    • Electro-mechanical design
    • Embedded firmware Development & RTOS
