Job Description

As a Contract Technical Writer at Altran, you will be developing manuals and user documentation for client projects in a broad range of industries including medical, and industrial applications. Our clients include startups, mid-size, and large multinational corporations that value our experienced, flexible, and innovative staff. This opportunity is located in our Burlington, MA location.

 

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer with a passion to work with our clients and developers in order to understand the product and build a quality help system.

 

This role involves regular collaboration with engineering and clients. You should have experience in working with these stakeholders. Some travel (up to two weeks) is required to accomplish this task.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
  • Research, develop and document technical design specifications
  • Produce electronic documentation
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
  • Develop videos to accompany help documentation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience working in a technical writing position
  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications or technical discipline

 

  • Outstanding written, verbal and in person communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Ability to recommend toolsets for documenting help files
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and convey recommended solutions to clients
  • Strong understanding of Agile process
