    Job Description

    Altran is looking to hire a Knowledge Base Engineer to work on location in Auburn Hills, MI.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Creating CAD (Catia/NX) parametric math models for commodities using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.
    • Extensive knowledge of Catia/NX modeling and an extensive background developing / packaging / synthesizing complex vehicle systems.
    • Dictating architecture and construction techniques, creating master development / packaging / requirement sections, defining master template modeling structures, and training other Catia/NX engineers on modeling techniques, architecture.

    Qualifications

     

    • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent degree from Mexico, Europe, Asia with Intermediate to advanced level of design/development engineering experience in Body-Body in White, in Upperbody or Underbody is required.
    • Master’s degree desirable.
    • DFSS and Teamcenter training is preferred.
    • Expertise in use of Catia V5 or Unigraphics NX and Team Center
    • Intermediate to advanced level of design/development engineering experience in Body-Body in White, in Upperbody or Underbody.
    • 2 Years Automotive or related industry experience.
    • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
    • Knowledgeable in regards to high strength steels, weld parameters and GD&T.
    • Proficient in MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Good understanding of body engineering and design process, including dimensional and structural requirements is desired.
    • Candidate must be a self-starter and able to complete complicated projects without constant supervision.
    • Strong communication skills is a must.
    • Willingness to take on additional responsibility and learn new methods and processes is a must.
    • Manufacturing or launch experience preferred.
    • Previous experience engineering and designing product for OEM's in Catia and NX preferred.
    • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
    • May be required to travel domestically and internationally (Italy, Canada, Brazil) 20%.
